Sometimes people just need someone to listen; sometimes people want advice on how to work through a problem or situation. What I like about this career: helping people and making a difference. It is also great to be running my own business and being independent.

Seven years of study past the bachelors degree. Ph.D. in Psychology and postdoctoral work.
What education or training do you recommend for students today who want to enter this field?
Go to college and study psychology. From there, you can decide what career path you want, including research psychology, clinical psychology, social work, etc..
When you were in high school, did you know that you would enter this field?
Yes, when I was fifteen I took a mini-course in psychology and knew I wanted to enter this field.
