Work with mentally handicapped individuals as a case manager and help them find community placements.

Teaching basic skills such as: safety skills, hygiene skills, interviewing skills, job coaching, and techniques for keeping a job.

What education or training did you have to prepare for this career?

Bachelor Degree in Social Work. Internship for 1 year in the field.

What education or training do you recommend for students today who want to enter this field?

I simply suggest a college education. Although you do not need a degree for my job, it is very helpful. It is also very helpful to have experience in the field.

When you were in high school, did you know that you would enter this field?

No. I entered college undeclared, but changed to Social Work in the middle of my freshman year.
